Overlaps with some of the other books, but includes enough different songs that this was a must for my music library. The fact that this is the music as it had been recorded gives plenty of examples available while learning how to play the basics. Getting to sound like Jaco Pastorius would require Jaco Pastorius, but getting close to his sound, even for just a measure or two, will be satisfying. As recorded means the albums, which should be relatively easy to come by.
Just "Soul Introduction" and "The Chicken" were worth the price. Accurate tab notation although Jaco would play songs several different ways. Wish it was spiral bound so it would lay flat but I've gotten to rely on an exacto knife, three hole punch and a 3 ring binder for books like these. Improvise, adapt and overcome.
Absolutely love this book I’ve already played every tune in here atleast 100 times, there’s not a bad one. I recommend it to someone who’s intermediate on the electric bass because somethings get pretty complicated and knowledge of scales and arpeggios help a lot.
Great book with some detailed (and accurate) charts for Jaco's tunes. Solo and with WR
Essential book for learning or teaching Jaco's best tunes, notation is great, and instructional tabs are helpful as well
I purchased this for my grandson who plays bass guitar. I can only speak for him. He is a big fan of Jaco Pastorius, and finds the book to be very helpful and challenging. He really likes it!

This book will give you material of study for a very long time. I've had ir for about 3 weeks and I'm constantly digging into it, it has helped me (beginner-intermediate bass player) improve my timing and technique.
