The book itself and pages are beautiful, but the type LONDON on the spine is upside down and backwards. As a coffee table book, that's sitting on top of it's companion, the Paris Book, the words collide with each other. Paris is shown correctly, and LONDON is upside down and backwards. It's that way on the jacket and the book! EEKS! As a writer and designer, it's hard to get past this. That's a BIG mistake!
Excellent coffee table book - very good pictures and good words as well. Good balance of historical stuff and current interest. We lived there 40 years ago and our most recent visit was two months ago - we purchased this book as a current and sentimental reminder of all we have seen/done there. Frankly, it's the best "London" book we've seen!Well done!
I was thrilled when this book arrived. I had bought it for family members who were traveling to London for the first time, so they could acquaint themselves with the city's highlights. But this book is beyond what I had hoped for, given the very reasonable price. Every page is in gorgeous color and accompanied by just enough informative narrative to give needed context And in addition there are the many gatefolds that open up to show an even larger view. This book will help my family plan their trip and afterwards will be a wonderful souvenir of their visit. I highly recommend it--you won't be disappointed.
Seriously, the title of the book is printed upside down on the spine of the book jacket. I noticed it when I sat it on my table next to the Paris book I bought at the same time.Time for some basic quality control. I'm returning it
Really cool book with beautiful pictures. The pictures are so high quality that it makes you feel like you are there looking at all of this in person. I bought it for my London-obsessed girlfriend for Christmas one year and she was absolutely in love! I say it's a great book for a London fanatic.
My daughter is fascinated with cities around the world. She loves this book. Lots of great pics.
